Links for Further Research

www.slektsforskning.com is a web page built and maintained by our Norwegian cousin, Roger Fossum. Descended from Karl Andreas Thomsen, Taulerius Thomsen's brother, Roger shares our obsession with the family history. His exhaustive research has lead to several important discoveries, not least of which those concerning Tolleif Thomsen and his legendary sea career.

Navigation: Although much of Roger's site is in Norwegian, his English language section is expanding all the time. Simply click on the Union Jack on the home page to begin in English. To trace the connections from Roger's family to ours, click on 'Ancestor Chart' ('Anetavle' in Norwegian) and follow the links. To see the contributions American Thomsen's have made to the page, click the link 'nybyggertiden I Minnesota' ('pioneer times in Minnesota').

If you would rather, the Norwegian site shouldn't be too difficult to use with a little explanation. In the left hand column, click the button 'søk i database' (search in database). From there you can search for names by, from left to right Title (tittel), first name (fornavn),last name (etternavn), farm (gård), town / place (by/sted) or county (fylke).
